Abstract

The background of this research is the low motivation and the outcomes of third grade students at Sukarasa II in Social Studies. This study aims to improve students motivation and learning result through the application of cooperative model of scramble type. This research method using Classroom Action Research (PTK) with Kemmis and Mc. Taggart desain which consists of four stages of plan, act, observe and reflect. The results of the implementation of the action by applying the model of cooperative scramble type, obtained student learning motivation in the first cycle of 70.77% with enough category and on the second cycle of 85% with good category. Furthermore, the result of questionnaire motivation learning in the first cycle reached 73.07% included in the positive criteria and the second cycle reached 88.5% included in the positive criteria as well. Then, the improvement of learning result can be seen from the students learning mastery in a classical way. In cycle I there are 20 students or 76.92% complete and in cycle II there are 23 students or 88.46% which complete and have reached target set. If calculated, the increase in learning result in the initial data and cycle II with the calculation of the gain index there is a difference of 0.72 can be categorized as a high increase. Based on that, the implementation of cooperative model of scramble type proved to improve the motivation and learning result of third grade students SDN Sukarasa II.
