Abstract

This research is entitled The influence of cooperative model type picture and picture on increasing student’s critical thinking onnatural science subjects in elementary school. The problem examined in this study is the steps of implementing cooperative learning model type picture and picture are the student’s of natural science in elementary school and whether there is an increase in the ability of critical thinking of students who use the cooperative learning model type picture and picture. Theoris need in this research area Rusman (2017) about cooperative learning model type picture and picture, theory of Alam Zaenal (2016) abaout picture and picture learning models and indicators, and theoris of Suprijono (2016) about critical thinking skills. The method used is quantitative_qualitative method (mixed methods). In this study there were 56 students who were divided into two classes 28 experimental class students and 28 contro class student. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in student’s critical thinking skills after being applied to the picture and picture type cooperative learning model compared to the control class using conventional learning model. The average value of the experimental class is 0.6875 and the average value of control class is 0.2875. So it can be said that the critical thinking skill of paticipants can be improved through the application of the picture and picture learning model.
