Abstract
The study aims to test the implementation of the Think Pair Share (TPS) Learning method to improve the understanding of the concept of natural sciences (IPA) about style in elementary school. The population in this study was a student at SD Negeri Cingcin 01. For the purpose of this research to be achieved, sample withdrawal was determined unrandomly so that students were elected to the IV-A class for the control class and the IV-B student for the experimental class as the subject of the study. The number of learners from each control class and the experiment class consists of 35 learners. The learning methods are given to the control class students using conventional methods, while the learning methods are given to students of experimental classes using the TPS method. The research instrument used was to create six RPP for three meetings, namely three RPP for the control class and three RPP for the experimental class. The Data is collected in the form of pretests and posttest results given at the first and third meetings. Then the data is analyzed using SPSS V23 software. Hypothesized testing results using the normality test, homogeneity test, and T-Test test. Additionally, this study uses the normalised gain index data from the control class data and the experiment class to see how much improvement after the TPS learning method is applied. The results of this study were obtained as follows: improvement in understanding the concept of students in SCIENCE subjects whose learning is using the TPS method is greater than that using conventional methods. Based on the results of the study can be recommended that the TPS learning method can be used as an alternative to increase the activity of the learning process in the classroom especially to improve the understanding concept of participants Students in Science.
